COOL    AND   BREEZY Sandeep Narayanan  : Vocal B.Ananthakrishnan   :   Violin Poongulam subramaniam Mrdngm S.Sunilkumar.             :   Kanjira Kalyani Viswanathan   Tambura Sandeep Narayanan commenced his concert with a rare varnam composed by  Shatkaala Narasaiah in Pantuvarali "Saami ninne na pai" with a shower of swaraas. It was literally "Swara mazhai" with the violinist presenting a beautiful Pantuvarali. Muthuswamy Dikshithar's Gowlai raga krithi in misrachapu talam "Sri Maha ganapathi (r) avathu maam.."  was energetic. The next one in the agenda was Thanjavur Sankara Iyer's "Balasubramaniam paadhame thunai.."in a rare ragam Vishnupriya a janya ragam of 32nd Mela ragam Vivardhini. A "SOUND" CONCERT Sid Sriram gave a vocal concert on Friday the 13th of December  2019 under the aegis of Meenakshi Sundararajan Fine Arts Academy.  Accompaniments: L.Ramakrishnan on the Violin, J.Vaidyanathan on the Mridangam and Dr.S.Karthik on the Ghatam Even 30 minutes before the commencement of  this  concert, the hall was full and overflowing with rasikas. The seats were full, the floor space too was occupied and outside the hall….the verandah was filled with rasikas peeping out through the  open windows…to have a glimpse of their “Kannana kanne “ heartthrob who mesmerized thousands through that film song A click of the full audience…… Sid Sriram started his concert with his signature invocation..”Vakrathunda Maha Kaaya..” in Sahaana followed by Thiruvottriyur Thyagayyar’s  “Karunimpa..” varnam in that same raagam. That was followed by Papanasam Sivan’s Keeravani number ”Devi neeye Thunai..” (Aadi taalam) in praise of Goddess Meenaksh...
